1. Patient Care: Provide patient-centered care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the treatment of health problems and the promotion of health. Specifically, students must:  
   • 1.1 Integrate patient and caregiver context, needs, values, preferences, and experiences into patient care.
   • 1.2 Gather, synthesize, and evaluate relevant information through history-taking, physical examination, and diagnostic testing.
   • 1.3 Create and prioritize differential diagnoses.
   • 1.4 Formulate therapeutic management plans for commonly encountered clinical conditions.
   • 1.5 Demonstrate basic procedural techniques.      
   • 1.6 Identify patients in need of urgent or emergent care, seek assistance, and recommend initial evaluation and management plans.
2. Knowledge for Practice: Apply and integrate foundational knowledge to improve health care for patients and populations. Specifically, students must:
   • 2.1 Demonstrate knowledge of basic, clinical, pathophysiologic, social-behavioral, and health systems sciences, as well as humanities, needed for clinical practice.
   • 2.2 Apply foundational knowledge to clinical practice, including diagnostic reasoning and decision making.
   • 2.3 Discern the accuracy of information and relevance to clinical problems.
   • 2.4 Demonstrate knowledge of research design, interpretation, and application to clinical problems, using appropriate resources, including emerging technologies.
3. Practice-Based Learning and Improvement: Integrate feedback, evidence, and reflection to adapt behavior, foster improvement, and cultivate lifelong learning. Specifically, students must:
   • 3.1 Identify opportunities for growth in one’s own performance through informed self-assessment and reflective practice.
   • 3.2 Actively seek and incorporate feedback and assessment data to improve performance.
   • 3.3 Locate, critically appraise, and synthesize information to support evidence-informed, patient-centered clinical decisions.
4. Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships, foster collaboration, and contribute to high-quality, patient-centered care. Specifically, students must:
   • 4.1 Apply communication and collaboration strategies to engage effectively with patients, caregivers, and the health care team across a broad range of backgrounds.
   • 4.2 Demonstrate the ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and compassionately in verbal, non-verbal, written, and electronic formats.
   • 4.3 Demonstrate active listening, sensitivity, and compassion with patients, caregivers, team members, and peers.
   • 4.4 Formulate and deliver feedback constructively to others.
5. Professionalism: Demonstrate integrity, respect, ethical reasoning, and promote inclusion of differences to improve health care for patients, communities, and populations. Specifically, students must:
   • 5.1 Demonstrate compassion, integrity, and respect for others.
   • 5.2 Use ethical principles and reasoning to guide behavior.
   • 5.3 Demonstrate accountability by completing duties and tasks in a thorough, reliable, and timely manner.
   • 5.4 Identify limits of knowledge and skills and seek help appropriately.
   • 5.5 Demonstrate humility and a willingness to learn from others with different backgrounds and experiences.
   • 5.6 Display receptiveness to feedback and commitment to continuous professional growth and standards.
   • 5.7 Adapt actions and communication according to the situation.
   • 5.8 Recognize and address personal well-being needs that may impact professional performance.
6. Systems-Based Practice: Apply knowledge of the larger context of health, including its social and structural determinants, and of systems and resources within and outside of health care, to optimize high-quality care for patients, communities, and populations. Specifically, students must: 
   • 6.1 Work effectively in various health care delivery settings and systems.
   • 6.2 Collaborate in transitions and coordination of patient care.
   • 6.3 Recognize opportunities to reduce disparities and advance health equity in patient care and health care systems.
   • 6.4 Identify patient safety concerns, systems issues, and opportunities for quality improvement.
   • 6.5 Demonstrate knowledge of health policy and the financial context of health care delivery.
7. Interprofessional Collaboration: Engage in interprofessional collaboration by applying shared values, mutual respect, and equity-focused practices to deliver safe, effective, patient- and population-centered care. Specifically, students must:
   • 7.1 Demonstrate the ability to build and sustain a team culture grounded in mutual respect, trust, shared values, well-being, and advocacy for health equity.
   • 7.2 Apply knowledge of one’s own role and those of other health professionals to address health care needs and optimize patient and population outcomes.
   • 7.3 Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, caregivers, communities, and other health professionals to support collaborative, patient-centered care.
   • 7.4 Employ collaborative team processes that promote effective team dynamics and result in safe, timely, equitable, high-quality care. 
   • 7.5 Demonstrate leadership behaviors that foster teamwork, support a positive learning environment, and advance high-quality care.
